Katie, a freelance video editor in desperate need of work, receives a high-paying offer from an anonymous employer to edit a mysterious and bizarre film. With a limited budget and facing eviction, Katie eagerly accepts the assignment. The footage shows people being tortured and even murdered on video – it’s all just a carefully choreographed fabrication, for sure. But when this first job leads to even more lucrative work and disturbingly realistic horror films, Katie’s life begins to fall apart. Strange figures appear in her apartment, nightmares keep her awake, and her cat is plagued by a mysterious illness. It’s only when Katie finally decides to quit her job that she learns just how cruel her anonymous employer is and what bloody measures she herself will resort to to get out of her contract.
